Hardy Island Granite is a salt and pepper grey granite which comes from the Jervis Inlet off the coast of British Columbia. It’s natural grey tones will complement any building or landscape project.
The history and the beauty of this natural stone product must be seen to be believed. This natural stone has a long history going back to the early 1900s coming from the Jervis Inlet. Hardy Island granite comes in natural grey tones in a salt and pepper gray granite that nicely compliments our black tusk basalt along with many other stones.
Hardy Island granite comes in Ashlar stone veneer (full stone) and comes in a thickness of 3 inches to 4 inches with heights of 5.5 inches, 11.5 inches and 17.5 inches in a standard pattern and is also available from 2 inches to 24 inches. The Ashlar veneer comes in lengths of 11.5 inches, 17.5 inches, and 23.5 inches in a standard pattern and is also available from 12 inches to 48 inches. The Ashlar veneer Hardy Island granite has a weight of 50 pounds per square foot and its coverage is 35 to 40 square feet per ton.
The Ashlar stone veneer (thin stone) comes in a thickness of 3/4 inch to 1.5 inch and comes in heights of 2.5 inches, 5.5 inches, and 8.5 inches with length of 17.5 inches and 23.5 inches. This natural stone weight comes in 14 pounds a square foot.
Hardy Island granite is also available in a patio/paving stone. This granite cobblestone is the perfect choice for your driveways, pathways or patio with finishes including a flamed or split face surface and comes in a thickness of 3 inches. Its sizes are 4” x 4”, 6” x 6” or to your specifications. The weight of the granite cobblestone is 42 pounds per square foot with a coverage of 45 square feet per ton.
Hardy Island granite wall stone has been used in many retaining walls and is available in a thickness of 5 inches to 7 inches with sizes of approximately 6” x 6” up to 18” x 24” in random shapes and has a weight of 50 to 75 pounds per square foot. The coverage of the Hardy Island granite is 28 to 32 square feet per ton.

Hardy Island granite steps and risers are a perfect choice for any of your natural stone designs. They are available in a natural or sawn top and bottom. Its finishes include a flamed or sandblasted top coming in your choice of a chiseled flamed or sandblasted face. The steps and risers come in a thickness of 1.25 inches or thicker with a length of 12 inches to 120 inches. This natural stone has a width that can be made to your specifications and its weight is 2 inches equaling 26 pounds a square foot, 3.5 inches equaling 50 pounds a square foot, 6 inches equaling 80 pounds a square foot, or 7 inches equaling 100 pounds a square foot.
